Night preludes the tomorrow and opens the doors to new imaginaries. Night transforms the appearance and rhythm of the city, unveiling unexplored territories. In the calm and dim light of an empty parking lot, time seems to suspend itself and question the future. Lugano's city centre has a high number of open-air parking lots, whose use is largely limited to daytime hours. As the sun sets, these places transform into free and open spatiotemporal intervals, inviting us to imagine a different future for the city and those who inhabit it. Traversing these spaces can spark a reflection on the lack of non-institutional cultural venues in Lugano's city centre.

A project by Maria Clara Castioni and Roberto Zancan in collaboration with the Interior Architecture Department of HEAD - Genève (HES-SO), for the project Scènes de Nuit. With the participation of Interior Architecture students: Aline Blanc, Stéphanie Hemidi, Toyine Humair, Carolina Rodrigues, Nina Wallimann.
