Viale S. Franscini 9, Lugano
The closing exhibition of the 2025/2026 edition of Mediazione Giovani – Laboratori di cultura urbana presents the design proposals developed by students of the Scuola d'Arti e Mestieri at the Centro Professionale Tecnico Lugano-Trevano, displayed through technical drawings and scale models.
The programme involved two second-year classes from the Disegnatrice/tore AFC course, in the Architecture and Civil Engineering streams, with a total of 22 students. The work was organised in interdisciplinary groups, bringing together design and construction skills in dialogue.
The projects reflect a journey dedicated to the culture of the built environment, the regeneration of public space, and strategies for addressing the effects of climate change in cities. Ideas developed in the classroom were built upon observation of the territory and transformed into concrete proposals, some of which gave rise to the installations created as part of Isole d'Estate 2026.
The exhibition thus offers an insight not only into the projects themselves, but also into the research and design process through which students envisioned a more liveable, sustainable, and inclusive city.
Mediazione Giovani unfolds through dialogue between schools, institutions, professionals, and businesses. The 2025/2026 edition was made possible through the collaboration of the Città di Lugano, the Commissione di Quartiere Loreto, Veragouth and Xilema, Lugano Convention & Exhibition, and the Divisione Spazi Urbani, with the essential support of Coop Cultura.
