6ᵗʰ biennale svizzera del territorio: Handle with care
October 1 - November 28, 2026
Opening October 1 - 3, 2026
Villa Saroli, Viale S. Franscini 9, Lugano
246 proposals received, 10 projects selected: these are the numbers behind the Call for Action of Handle with Care, the theme of the 6ᵗʰ biennale svizzera del territorio.
Open to professionals of all ages and from all over the world, the call required just one criterion: taking care of the existing. Installations, constructive or transformative interventions, performances, artistic works or architectural visions, any form was admitted, provided it was capable of questioning the responsibility of our professions and practices in observing, maintaining and acting with care towards the environment in which we live.
The Selection Committee, composed of David Barragán, Laura Brenni, Catherine Gay, Marc Frochaux, Khensani Jurczok-de Klerk, Adrien Meuwly, Anna Puigjaner and Xu Tiantian, chose 10 projects among the entries received.
The installations will be presented in the park of Villa Saroli during the opening of the biennale, from 1 to 3 October, and will remain on display until 28 November 2026. The full call is available here.
