CCP07 - Architectures in transition

March 13 – April 29, 2026
Tue – Fri, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Limonaia di Villa Saroli,
Viale S. Franscini 9, Lugano

Founded in 2012 by architects Nicola Regusci and Xavier Bustos, Cities Connection Project | CCP promotes cultural exchange between architecture practices from different territories, with the aim of creating a network of connections between cities and enhancing contemporary architecture. The project unfolds in three stages, each hosted by a participating city, and includes an exhibition featuring 60 projects by architects, public meetings, debates, conferences, a publication and guided tours. Each edition revolves around a common theme that stimulates reflection on urban transformations.

The CCP07 edition explores the reuse of the built heritage and social responsibility as tools for a more ethical and sustainable architecture. Climate change and new sustainability policies are increasingly influencing architectural practice, prompting architects and professionals to reflect on their role towards the environment and society. The projects presented promote the reuse of existing spaces, energy efficiency, durable materials and the creation of spaces that encourage encounter and interaction among users.

Once the three stages of the connection — in Barcelona, Brussels and Luxembourg — were completed, the exhibition was presented in other cities, including Madrid, Bilbao, Coimbra and Riga, before arriving in Mexico City for the Mextrópoli 2025 festival, incorporating high-quality local projects.

It is precisely this Mexican selection, on display at the Limonaia di Villa Saroli, that represents a direct dialogue between different architectural cultures and shows how architecture can address contemporary urban challenges without losing identity and design quality.
