100 Projects in 100 Years of Landscape Architecture in Switzerland
May 17 – June 29, 2025

Limonaia di Villa Saroli,
Viale S. Franscini 9, Lugano
In 2025 the Federazione Svizzera degli Architetti Paesaggisti (FSAP) celebrates its 100th anniversary. Over a century, the professional profile has evolved profoundly: from the creation of gardens to the development of solutions for the complex challenges of open spaces.
On the occasion of the founding of the Ticino regional group, on May 17, a round table explores the relationship between landscape architecture and architecture. FSAP also presents an exhibition of 100 Swiss projects spanning 100 years in the spaces of the Limonaia di Villa Saroli. What in 1925 began as an exclusive circle of garden designers is today a discipline of the future.
At the centre is the question of open space: densification, biodiversity crisis, flood protection, sustainable construction. How can these challenges be addressed and brought together into coherent, high-quality projects? Who is involved in the planning process and how? The starting point is the transformation of landscape architecture in recent years, explored in the anniversary issue of Anthos, the Swiss yearbook of landscape architecture.
The Lugano event inaugurates the series of events "Anthos on tour", organised by FSAP and Hochparterre, which over the course of a year brings reflection on landscape architecture to different cities, across and between disciplines. The events are supported by ACO, VELOPA and Società Anonima San Giorgio.
