The Gellert distr8ct in Basel draws its character from a mixture of residential and commercial buildings in a green environment. The existing buildings are cut back to their original dimensions and supplemented with three new residential buildings. Their form and metallic shell seek to echo the commercial past of the site, the precise arrangement creates well-dimensioned, pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces.
